Call (772) 284-5142Basic transponder (most domestic + Japanese): $160-290. Remote head / flip key: $200-310. Smart key / push-to-start (mainstream): $280-500. Luxury European: $480-780. Tesla key card: $50-90.
For non-luxury makes — almost always the locksmith. For most Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, Hyundai, Kia, RAM, Jeep we're $100-200 cheaper than the dealer once you factor in towing. For luxury European, gap closes — get a phone quote first.
For most makes built since ~2000, yes — the VIN gives us the original key cut code, which we cut on-site. Some manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes, some Land Rover) require additional verification we coordinate with. Tesla doesn't use traditional cuts — keys are RFID cards or app pair.
Cheapest legitimate option: locksmith on-site. Trying to buy a transponder key online and program it yourself doesn't work because the programming requires OBD-II tools that cost $500-2000 to own. Cheap eBay 'universal' fobs are often counterfeit chips that don't match your immobilizer.
Basic transponder: 5-15 min programming, 10-15 min cutting blade. Total ~30-45 min from arrival. Smart key / push-to-start: 30-60 min programming. Total ~60-120 min from arrival. Tesla card pair: 90 seconds.
Yes by default — adding a new key doesn't deactivate existing keys. If you want the OLD key disabled (lost-key scenario), we can do an 'all-keys-lost' programming sequence that erases all keys from the immobilizer and re-pairs only the new one. Slightly more expensive ($40-80 add-on) but locks out anyone with the old key.
Mobile auto key jobs happen across PSL every day — driveways in Tradition / Telaro / Veranda Bay / Magnolia Lakes / Sandpiper Bay, plus dealership parking lots along US-1, the Treasure Coast Square mall lot, Tradition Field events, Hutchinson Island beach parking.
